Quad Almighty & The Powers That Be to Perform at The Legendary Bowery Poetry Club

April 29th , 2008
Quad Almighty and The Powers That Be Performing Live at Bowery Poetry Club NYC
Revolutionary Hip-Hop/Jazz Ensemble to perform songs from latest E.P., The Quad Almighty E.P.
New York, NY – Quad Almighty and The Powers That Be today announced that they will be performing at Bowery Poetry Club on April 29th. The performance will include tracks from the recently released Quad Almighty E.P. as well as some previously unreleased songs.
“I relish every opportunity to perform these songs because the subject matter is so relevant to things that are happening globally, as well as the struggles of everyday life.” said Quad Almighty. “For those of us who grew up as hip hop was making the transition from basement parties to corporate boardrooms, the current commercialization of hip-hop is a mockery of a movement that we feel obligated to carry on. The Quad Almighty E.P., a tribute to hip hop before the introduction of intrusive corporate interests, elucidates the struggles of the have-nots and outsiders.”
Quad Almighty burst onto the Midwest's hip hop scene in 1998, as a member of the hip hop group H.A.Z. (Hungry and Zooted). "Hungry for change but Zooted with contentment," is a slogan the group members used to describe their social disposition. Production on this new project, The Quad Almighty E.P., is attributed to Finsta - Brooklyn's own native son and one half of the hip hop duo Finsta & Bundy. The Quad Almighty E.P. has songs that rock, smooth songs, songs that make you think and songs that will make you dance; it contains nearly every feeling that music can evoke in a person. The Quad Almighty E.P. seeks to remind audiences of everything that made them fall in love with hip-hop music.

"Thereare tracks that many [hip –hop] head's can definitely relate to andother songs that are bit more academic; touching on thought provokingthemes that are rarely explored. Not to mention the production isinsane, with beats that can make a seamless transition from the club,to the car, to your ipod earphones…"Quad Almighty burst onto the Midwest's hip hop scene in 1998, as amember of the hip hop group H.A.Z. (Hungry and Zooted). "Hungry forchange but Zooted with contentment," is a slogan the group membersused to describe their social disposition.
